Regardless, there’s tons of evidence pointing to men having gaming pcs much more often than women There’s almost no specific peer reviewed studies on that topic supporting either male or female popularity within owning high end pc setups. Take a look and tell me how anything I said was “casually sexist.” Also, because I’m calling out how you’re trying to take the high road, that means I’m probably sexist? Casual sexism. If you claim that I’m making a sexist statement, you’re implying that I’m sexist at least partially. The basis you’re using is like a racist saying “Of course he’s an illegal, he’s Mexican.” It has less to do with valorant being a riot game and more to do with first person shooter video games being a male dominated space. ![]() Just because women face harassment from sexist players, doesn’t mean that playing a riot games makes them more likely to be sexist. That’s like claiming it’s sexist to say “women own more makeup products than men do.”Īlso, the valorant community and the valorant work environments are not the same culture. Explain how what i said is discrimination on the basis of sex. Regardless, there’s tons of evidence pointing to men having gaming pcs much more often than women, and lots of information that shows that which aren’t peer reviewed studies.Ĭope with what? How is what I said sexist when it’s a literal fact that is right or wrong. ![]() I think because most women don't play other fps games or grew up playing them, valorant which appeals to the category of 'new to fps' wil automatically attract more women. Also the ping system works very well if you don't want to use voice because of harassment which is also a plus. One big example is the default starting crosshair showing movement inaccuracy, which I would never use now as it's distracting but that was absolutely useful when I started out in iron 1 not knowing to stop moving while shooting. However, valorant had good marketing, an intuitive UI and just seems to be really friendly to people completely new to fps/hero shooter games. I'm a woman and valorant was my first fps or multiplayer game (actually apex was, but I only played that for about a week when it had just released.) Don't know why I didn't ever play csgo for example, I think it just didnt seem as fun to me without friends playing it and it didn't seem friendly to new players.
